77th Santa Barbara Intl. Orchid Show Recap

The 77th Santa Barbara International Orchid Show, held from March 7 to 9, 2025, at the Earl Warren Showgrounds, captivated attendees with its "Exotic Gardens" theme. This annual event, one of the oldest and most prestigious orchid exhibitions in the United States, showcased a diverse array of orchid displays and related activities.​

Westerlay created a 10 foot display of Orchid Brambles and a guess the number of Orchids competition which was well received with over 650 number of entries.  



Exquisite Orchid Displays

The Exhibit Pavilion featured intricate arrangements replicating tropical landscapes, transporting visitors to lush, exotic environments. Over 50 vendors from around the world presented a vast selection of orchids, catering to both enthusiasts and casual admirers. The displays not only highlighted the beauty of these flowers but also reflected the rich agricultural heritage of Santa Barbara County. 

Engaging Workshops and Demonstrations

Throughout the weekend, attendees participated in hands-on workshops, including Kokedama and orchid mounting sessions. Free repotting demonstrations were also offered, providing valuable insights into orchid care. A new addition, the "VIP Tour Guide Experience," featured 45-minute guided walkthroughs led by American Orchid Society judges, offering deeper insights into the exhibits and the show's history.



Looking Ahead

The 77th Santa Barbara International Orchid Show successfully combined education, community, and the mesmerizing beauty of orchids. As the show concluded, attendees left with a renewed appreciation for these exotic flowers, already anticipating next year's exhibition.
