Westerlay Joins the $1,000 Cookie Pledge to fund the Carpinteria Skate Park

Carpinteria Skate Park Fundraiser

Westerlay loves community. Ever since Company founder Joop “Joe” Overgaag, his wife, and four children immigrated to Carpinteria, California, from the Netherlands in 1978, they have been part of the Carpinteria and Santa Barbara community and enjoyed giving back to this beloved area.

One of Westerlay’s favorite ways to give back is by supporting the “Christmas in July” Fundraiser, which each year raises funds and awareness for a different local nonprofit honoring the late philanthropist Michael Towbes.

This year the 4th annual Christmas in July fundraiser is helping to fund the construction of the skate park that the local community has been rallying to build for the last decade. The funds raised will go to the Carpinteria Skate Foundation.

The Challenge: Sell 200 Carp Skate Park cookies within the week of July 26-30, Westerlay Pledges to donate $1,000 to the non-profit.

What you can do to help: Get our cookies at The Food Liaison.   The cookies are a collaboration between The Food Liaison and Rori’s Artisanal Creamery. They are delicious vegan sugar cookies with “Carp Skate Park” written in icing, and all proceeds will be donated.
